My Story
Kerry Kucala is a dedicated secondary English educator, an experienced instructional coach, and the founder of AlignED Learning Co. Through AlignED Learning Co, she supports teachers in developing aligned, purposeful, and sustainable instructional practices.
With 14 years of experience at RSD, Kerry designs skill-based, data-driven learning experiences that prioritize student engagement, academic discourse, and reflective practice. Her classroom exemplifies high-impact instructional strategies, showcasing how clarity and alignment can enhance both rigor and accessibility for all learners.
Beyond her classroom, Kerry Kucala collaborates with educators across various content areas as a mentor and instructional coach. She partners with both novice and experienced teachers to strengthen their instructional practices, boost student engagement, and utilize formative data to foster meaningful learning. Her coaching approach is grounded in the TESS framework(AR) and emphasizes clarity in instruction, student-centered learning, and intentional alignment between learning goals, instruction, and assessment.
As the facilitator of her school’s novice teacher mentor program, Kerry has been instrumental in enhancing teacher efficacy and retention. Through structured coaching cycles and collaborative Professional Learning Community (PLC) work with novice teachers, she cultivates a culture of reflection, growth, and collective responsibility for student success.
Kerry also contributes to the broader educational community by engaging in regional professional learning and conference presentations. She has facilitated professional development sessions through her regional Educational Cooperative and was honored as a featured presenter at Daryl Williams’ Complete 180 Conference, where she shared valuable strategies for aligning novice teacher mentoring systems and boosting student achievement.
